We are delighted to announce the appointment of Oliver Russell as the Deputy Head for Strategy and School Development
March 2025: Oliver is an accomplished educator and leader with a distinguished career at renowned institutions such as Sevenoaks School, Shrewsbury School UK, and NLCS Dubai. He now joins the Shrewsbury India school community, bringing a wealth of experience and passion for holistic education.
With Anglo-Indian heritage and six years of experience at Shrewsbury School UK, Oliver offers a unique blend of expertise to his new role. As Deputy Head (Strategy and School Development), he will lead key areas including Co-curricular activities, Marketing, Admissions, and Accreditation.
Oliver holds an impressive academic background, with an M.A. in Geography and an M.Phil in Environmental Science from the University of Cambridge. Beyond the classroom, he is deeply committed to extracurricular development, having participated in sports, music, and environmental expeditions across the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent. He also brings extensive experience in residential boarding.
A strong advocate for the whole-person education model championed by Shrewsbury, Oliver is dedicated to empowering students, helping them realize their full potential, and providing a global perspective on education. His leadership will undoubtedly enhance the student experience at Shrewsbury International School India.
