Shashank Singh, Rahul Batham and Kamal Tripathi - India’s rising cricket stars now join the Shrewsbury family to inspire future Salopians
We are pleased to bring on board Punjab Kings’ all-rounder Shashank Singh, the Under-19 Cricket World Cup standout Rahul Batham, and Madhya Pradesh’s star, Kamal Tripathi as our new sports ambassadors.
Shashank Singh made headlines in the 2023-24 Vijay Hazare Trophy Tournament with a remarkable 15-run innings and a five-wicket haul - an unprecedented feat in List-A cricket. “The thriving sports landscape that I now see in India continues to inspire many young athletes, and integrating sports into school curriculums can play a powerful role in shaping young minds. I am honoured to be the sports ambassador for Shrewsbury International School India where world-class sports infrastructure and tailored student support empower every individual to uncover and pursue their true passion,” remarks Shashank Singh.
Representing Bhopal Leopards in the MP League, Kamal Tripathi brings enriching experience and regional pride. “Joining the Shrewsbury family fills me with pride and purpose. I look forward to guiding promising young athletes, instilling in them the values of teamwork, discipline and resilience that have shaped my own professional journey,” he says.
A rising star from the Under-19 Cricket World Cup squad, Rahul Batham emphasises the broader lessons of sport. “Pursuing a career in sports has taught me to embrace challenges. At Shrewsbury, I see the same spirit – where young pupils will learn to set goals, work together and celebrate each other’s successes. That is real education,” he adds.
Oliver Russell, the Deputy Head for School and Strategy Development reflects, “Rahul, Kamal and Shashank were chosen as sports ambassadors because they exemplify the Salopian virtues of
Wisdom, Kindness, Courage, Integrity, Self-Mastery and Spirit,
that we uphold at Shrewsbury. We are very excited to have them on board and to witness how their passion will inspire our pupils to excel both in school and beyond.”
